Factors to consider when individualizing and tailoring the prophylactic dosage of Kovaltry

The dosage of Kovaltry required for hemostasis should be individualized based on the needs of the patient, the bleeding type, the severity of the deficiency, the severity of the hemorrhage, the presence of inhibitors and the desired FVIII level.1

According to current medical opinion, dosing protocols should be individualized as much as possible based on age, venous access, activity and availability of clotting factor concentrates. Pharmacokinetic profile testing can also help guide the dosing frequency, but is not mandatory to individualize patient care.6–8
