Variables to consider when individualizing the dose and duration of Jivi1

  • Weight
  • Severity of the hemostatic function disorder
  • Site and extent/severity of the bleeding
  • Desired Factor VIII (FVIII) level
  • Pharmacokinetic and clinical response

On-demand treatment with Jivi1*

  • Dosage necessary to achieve hemostasis depends on the type and severity of the bleeding episode1

FVIII activity should not fall below the given plasma activity level (in % of normal or IU/dL) in the corresponding period for the following hemorrhagic events:1

FVIII level required
Recommended dose
Frequency of doses and duration of therapy
Minor
hemorrhage
20–40%
or IU/dL
10–20 IU/kgRepeat every 24–48 hours
until bleeding resolved
Moderate
hemorrhage
30–60%
or IU/dL
15–30 IU/kgRepeat every 24–48 hours
until bleeding resolved
Major
hemorrhage§
60–100%
or IU/dL
30–50 IU/kgRepeat every 8–24 hours
until bleeding resolved

Perioperative management with Jivi1*

Consider maintaining a FVIII activity at or above the target range1

FVIII level required
Recommended dose
Frequency of doses and duration of therapy
Minor
surgery
30–60%
or IU/dL (pre- and post-operative)
15–30 IU/kg Repeat every 24 hours
for ≥1 day until  healing achieved
Major
surgery||
80–100%
or IU/dL (pre- and post-operative)
40–50 IU/kg Repeat every 12–24 hours
until adequate wound healing, then continue therapy for ≥7 days to maintain FVIII activity of 30–60% (IU/dL)
